Not recommended. The Jimny was supposed to be a fashionable, four-wheel drive runabout but the tiny dimensions make it uncomfortable both on and off-road.

The Jimny is a good idea - a pint-sized 4x4 with a good driving position and smart looks. But despite the lowly price, it doesn't quite measure up. On tarmac it bounces around at anything above city speeds and you really need to hang on if the Suzuki ventures off-road. There's limited space for two rear-seat passengers and the boot only becomes useful if you fold the back seat down. The 1.3-litre petrol engine gives the Jimny peppy performance around town, although it runs out of steam after that. Avoid the soft-top because it's extremely noisy.
Positive Punkte
- Few 4x4s are cheaper to buy and run
- Certain to be reliable if serviced correctly
- Reasonable off-road abilities
|
Negative Punkte
- Lacks refinement; noisy with a bumpy ride
- Engine needs working hard and sounds coarse
- Tiring to drive on longer journeys
